Douglas DC-3, 80th anniversary

December 17, 1935 was the day the now legendary DC-3 flew for the first time.

It is no surprise that we are now celebrating the 80th anniversary of one of the most iconic airplanes in the world (if not "the most"). Its versatile design, the strength of its airframe, and the simple yet reliable engineering of its parts have made of it a legend. Words always fall too short to describe her beauty, and to praise her proved qualities.

Many planes have come, and have gone. But the DC-3 (C-47) still flies.

Wishing a bright future to this beautiful bird!
