Hi Peopel, more one test from Murph's Models, at this time is a F-104N Starfighter. The original scale is 1/50, but I reduce to 1/100, is a nice model, the major difficult is air intakes. The NASA early scheme is very neat, remind a 70's civilian sport plane colors...

willys!
Haven't been on here in a long time but my stack of models was calling. I thought this Willys Jeep might be kind of fun. Will post some photos as the build progresses. Man I am out of practice. If you can see anywhere I can improve I greatly appreciate the advice. Here goes....
Batmobile - Batman v Superman 2016
Kool Wheelz! The movie isn't out yet but Dave offers the newest Batmobile already. How cool is that?
I fiddled the kit a bit:
- I assembled the wheels (tires actually) in a rounder shape (I printed the wheel faces two times and gave them a slight contour)
- altered the wheel guards and fenders (had to do that because the wheels are now bulkier)
- the assembly of the wheels changed a bit too (front axle instead of Dave's wheel mount)
- I made a base plate to it too and that caused a slight alteration to the nose shape - sigh!
- fix whit the wheel shape made me do some sort of rim too and the fixing point to the guards (one thing led to another)
- some additional detailing: opened the air inlets on the hood, exhaust pipes and some hatches in more 3D appearance
So if you are building this one, don't use my pics as a reference - it has been altered so many ways you better follow Dave's instructions.
Last thing was to make a little base plate (a wooden coaster covered with concete imitating cardboard) for it and an atmospheric backdrop. Hope you like it.
Fun build and I suggest you build it yourself.

Hello!
Hello everyone! I am a beginner in the art of paper and I am looking for information, inspiration, ideas to start my own projects.:)
Brussels Marketplace - MaKit - 1:303
Time to start a new model build.
This one is going to be the MaKit Brussels Marketplace and Town Hall. It's going to be quite a large model (about 29" x 24"---76cm x 63cm) and a scale of 1:303. Total of 36 sheets (about 13" x 9.5"---34cm x 24cm) - 8 for the Town Hall and 28 for the surrounding Marketplace. 982 total pieces.
The instructions are very minimal, half a sheet with very basic instructions (i.e., follow the numbers starting with A1 etc.) for the Marketplace and the same for the Town Hall. Very much like the "Haletoren" build earlier this year.
The originals were scanned and printed on 80 lb (218 gsm) cream cover stock. That's about the same paper weight as the original sheets.
I'm starting with the Marketplace houses first. These are all grouped into different housing units. Starting with the first group A (see ground plan) and the first house completed.

This was a Birthday gift for one of my buddies across the street from where I live. There's another Birthday at the end of July so I will have to get cracking. Rather then buying him a gift{remember me? I'm the cheap guy.}I made him a model.
This model would not have been possible with out all of the help from the kind people here at Paper Modelers, FiddlersGreen, my best friend hawkman67 how supplied most if no all of the eye candy and a real nice person, my nentor Willygoat. I debt to him I will never be able to repay for the hobby. wc

Rufus Porter came up with this idea in the late 1840's to get people from New York to the California gold fields in just 3 days.
FLYING MACHINES - Rufus Porter
A very large (800 feet in length and 50 feet in diameter) compartmented helium filled "spindle" driven by two steam engines turning propellers. The spindle also rotated to cut down on air resistance.
Gotta go get some gold.

Hi, paper-cutters worldwide. I eventually decided to join the community and share some of my experiences with you folk. My current project is the Queen Mary 2 1:250 vom JVC, though in a largely more detailed way. I have built some twenty passenger ships so far and my apartment is going to burst at the seams. More later....

Looks very interesting.
To make it work would probably require a lot of tweaking, it might be interesting project in wood or foam board.

Greetings
Hello, just beginning to get into paper modelling. What peaked my interest was looking for model kits of the ships in the new Star Trek reboot. Looking around I found some resin kits that are pricey, then stumbled across a site called Paragon Models, and thought hey what a nice cheap way of doing it, that fits my budget :-)
I've had some experience building plastic model kits but that was easily around 20 years ago if not longer and some wood modelling experience.
I probably have more experience using 3-D software than I do with anything else, my preferred software is Truespace which is now vaporware I guess. I still use the old version 3.1 from the late nineties.
Sci-fi subjects are my favorite (Star Trek, Star Wars, Bablyon5, etc.)
Currently I am working on Paragons U.S.S. Kelvin model as it looks like it might be easier than the others. I'm toying with the idea of seeing if I can create a 3-D model and improve on it somewhat.
Current Status:
Building the Kelvin from Star Trek
Learning more about paper modelling
Things that I hope to build in the future:
Babylon 5 - The actual station
Babylon 4
The ships form the newest star Trek movie
Vulcan cruiser from Enterprise - I think there are two,I guess the bigger one is the one i'm looking for
Glad to be here and maybe I can get some pointers on some tips and tricks on how to build and maybe even design.

an incredible model. if it were not for the depth of field issue in the photograph, I would think it was real. from what I gather via google translate, it's a modelik kit with scratch built parts and weathered with oils.
the rivet counter in me is drooling:eek:

Blohm und Voss BV P.212.02 in 1/48 scale
On we continue with my 1/48 scale Luft 46 hotel build while in Montreal hotel on temporary duty here.
This one I have built before scaled up to 1/33 and with an interior and a clear canopy. That previous built was done while I lived in Japan.
Here is the complete link to that version:

The kit was designed by Eric Son and in my opinion is a great model and is suitable for detailing.
Here is his design thread:

However, since I am on TDY and do not have all my tools, I am limited in my ability to detail it, my version will now be much simpler.
The kit:
There are 2 pages of external skins and one page of frames.

A Delightful Encounter
Two and a half weeks ago, I was in Amsterdam with my wife Christal, my daughter Ingrid, and our Ripon friends Tom & Mary Avery. On our second and last night in the city, Billy Leliveld drove up from Rotterdam to spend an hour with us at dinner. It was like meeting an old friend. Thanks, Billy!
This site has given me ideas, information, and inspiration. It has also given me a host of new friends from around the world. Oshkosh AirVenture is just a few weeks away; if you are coming to Oshkosh (or to central Wisconsin for any other reason), let me know and look me up.
Cheers,

P.S.: A special thanks to Jason for creating this forum and to him and his moderators for keeping it running and growing.

Contact !
Howdy everyone !
I was sitting here pondering a question and my eyes fell on a little ship .Yes , I mean little, 6-1/2" long ! The paper model I have of the same ship is a Shreiber1/200 M.S. EUROPA ! That model I believe is almost three feet some inches long .
Now , I think the little one is something that was available in the Europa's Gift shop. I rescued it from a toy bin at a flea market .What I would like to know is this .
have any of you ever contacted a shipping line for information or something like this . I have your little ship .I would like to buy one that is unharmed because I have the large card model too ?
Have they ever responded or should I expect any response at all ? the little ship has this imprint in raised letters on the bottom , Im Auftrag Der Hapag LLoyd ! I would really like to acquire one if it's possible . Papersurprise50

Hello from UK
Me and some friends are putting together a charity carnival float this summer with the theme of Thunderbirds.
We needed a plan to base our 15ft cardboard and paper-mache TB2 on and it looks like the download section here has just the thing we need to make a start.
Hoping to post some pictures once construction gets underway.

Hello everyone
Hello everyone and to the admins of these group.
I am Ryan, a teacher / educator. I joined the group to seek an alternative in teaching my Scouts to learn about Aircraft & Watercraft Modelling (we are also open to other modelling subjects).
We have tried using plastic kits, but since some of them cannot afford such kits. I am looking for other options wherein they could still learn modelling and the values, character and skill they could learn and develop will doing the activity.
Thanks everyone.
Ryan :)

Digital spot UV
Hello,
I'm new in this forum but I've done paper models before. I'm in the digital printing industry and we have this new technology in our company that I'd like to apply to a paper model.
This technology is called digital UV and we can use this to apply highly glossy markings to paper. If you have vector patterns, we can add that as UV too. For example, we can add realistic scales to reptile or fish models.
Here's a sample sheet. This is our spot effect on plain black paper. Basically, it gives a 3D feel which is very tactile
Can someone point me to a place where I can download a model which would maximize this capability? Can you also suggest models for me to build with this?
Thanks!
Joseph
