Over the last year or two, I've built a few of Bruno's 1/100 WWI birds and printed them on glossy brochure paper with my HP inkjet. I wanted to use a thinner weight paper for these small models, and the nice smooth surface also sharpened every little detail of my recolors. I just noticed that the colors are fading away big time . My man cave windows have a western exposure, and the lowering sun is filtered through pine trees and mini blind slats to boot, but it's still taking a big toll on these particular models. By this time next year I expect they'll be mostly white. The neighboring models printed on plain old cardstock appear unaffected, and some of them are years old.
Has anyone else experienced color fade using glossy brochure or photo paper? Does anyone have any ideas on how to prevent it? I started building a F1 car with this paper a while back, and would hate to have to display it in a closet with the door closed.
