Here is my second build of the Perdana/Bowden B777-200 in Kuwait Airways livery. The first one was a beta build, and this one will have worked out to be beta 2.0. Or something like that.
The big change was to thicken the wing at the root. The original model had wings that weren't thick enough where the wing meets the fuselage. It was about 1cm thick. In looking at photos of the actual airliner, though, I determined they needed to be thicker, so I jury-rigged a fix to increase it to 1.5cm at its widest spot, which is about 4cm back from the leading edge. I think it looks more realistic. John, who did the re-color of Julius' original design, is incorporating a fix to his wing box structure (a keen bit of engineering that works really well, by the way) so that the final kit will have wings that are the correct thickness at the root.
John also came up with re-designed flap-track fairings that are more realistic than the originals. Together with his new engine pylons, the underside of the plane looks just as cool as the topside.
I added a few tweaks here and there, but I'm confident the final Perdana/Bowden offering will build into a darn-fine model.
