Here is my recolor and build of the Exclusive Models 7TP. EM's offerings are all nicely detailed for such small scale kits, but they're all white models, which is fine if you like those, but I prefer colored models - Photoshop to the rescue! Unfortunately, a lot of the fine detailing that I painted in has been lost in the small scale - maybe I'd better build this again in 1/50th before WoPT releases one :).
The 7TP was a Polish development of the Vickers 6-Ton Mark E tank, built under license. It had thicker armor, a diesel engine, and a 37mm gun. The Polish 7TPs were thrown against the German Blitzkrieg of 1939, and although they were arguably superior to the German light tanks in use at the time, there just weren't enough of them to make a difference. After Poland fell to the German juggernaut, many surviving 7TPs were incorporated into front line Panzer units and saw action in Norway and France. Soon, as tanks became heavier and more lethal, the 7TPs became obsolete, and were relegated to rear guard areas with less intense combat activity.
My repaint is of a 7TP comandeered by the Germans and used for policing duty in Nazi controlled territories. This particular tank saw service in Lithuania, and served in the Polizie Panzer Kompanie "Ost" in 1941. After a couple of years of crushing Soviet occupation, the Lithuanians at first welcomed the conquering Germans as liberators, but quickly found out that they had simply exchanged one brutal occupier for another. Before long, coordinated partisan activity arose, and the Polizie Panzer Kompanies had their hands full.
Pics came out pretty good. I'm starting to get the hang of this LG smartphone :).
