Ferrari LaFerrari

my latest build

Ferrari LaFerrari from Shinya

SHINYA papercraft.[ƒy[ƒp[ƒNƒ‰ƒtƒg‚‚*‚Á‚¿‚ႨI]

I doubled the scale of the model (holy smokes i couldn't imagine trying to build this at the designed scale... there are small parts at double scale... they would be microscopic at original scale)

I didn't take any pics during the build unfortunately.... overall, i am really happy with the final product!

Enjoy!

A short absence, and now I am back. I need some advice.

So...I am gearing up for another crafting session. I thought I'd revisit the SDF-1 and rebuild it, using different paper and some ideas and techniques I have learned watching others.

I have a few questions.

I really like how this one: http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/f...1-macross.html turned out. How do you supposed the seams, edges and such were smoothed out so well? Looks like the modeler may have printed it on colorless paper and drew in his own paneling and details. He also chose coloring to resemble that of the Do You Remember Love version.

Speaking of DYRL, is there a paper model kit floating around out there ont he net of the DYRL version of the Macross? The one without the Prometheus and Daedelous and 2 ARMD platforms instead? I think I would enjoy building that one more.

So, advice on how to achieve this same aesthetic would be great and if someone has a link to a model just about the same size, if bigger of the DYRL Macross would be even better :)

The Vintage Service Station Paper Model - Oil Painting Version

Finally, here is the Vintage Service Station Paper Model - Oil Painting Version, ready for download.

My idea is that this will look with the look of a oil painting, with the apparent brush strokes.

I think I came close. I made the models in three print formats: A4, A3 and Letter, so you can choose

which is better for your interests. Download easily, directly from Google Drive.

F-4E; Yoav Hozmi model

After reading the initial build by our extremely talented designer and builder, I decided to build his model. Regarding Yoav's design, there was alot of coverage by himself as well as at least two builds on this forum, so I will provide my perspective on this build.

Initial instruction photos:

http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/a...-33-scale.html

Yoav's files with comments:

http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/a...tructions.html

Klaas build which goes to details and completed in the flying position:

http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/a...e-kurnass.html

and na120372 memebr ( which I do not know his name ), has built it twice. In the air and on its wheels:

http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/a...yoavhozmi.html

My build will be similar, but will include the landing gear.

So this is the quick intro. More to come.

Admin, How many are we now?

Greetings from Portland :)

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to paper modelling (sort of fell into it by accident through paper doll stuff) so I tend to stick to easier models.

I tend to make gifty things like simple pop-up cards, gift boxes and easy origami (which even then can be too confusing for me... So ... many... steps  ! )

I usually look for models on paperkawaii (yay for step-by-step videos!) or canon creative park.

Of course I've saved more pdfs than I have actually made.

If I'm not trying to make something out of paper I'm usually looking at Onihide's flickr stream (much missed artist), reading a book from Gutenberg (free online books!!!!!whooty-whoot!) or watching David Suchet in "Poirot".

I'm more likely to read than comment which is probably a good thing because I have a lot to learn.

It looks like there are many, many talented people here and I greatly enjoy reading posts and seeing your triumphs and discoveries. :)

Wishing you all a very happy 2015,

Courtney.

daedalus class starship starship

im looking for the old uss daedalus or uss essex starships that were floating around a few years ago i lost my 2 versions in a hard drive crash if anyone has these laying around on there computers id be greatfull i do have the star trek legacy version but im looking for the more TOS era looking ones if anyone can help let me know thanks :)

Chity chitty bang bang

Has anyone ever thought of this iconic film car.. if so where can I find one :)... otherwise, it may be a good model to do :)

1/250 Stalhart F-18 Dambuster

Here's the small surprise that I mentioned earlier. A stalhart hornet shrunk to 1/250 scale with landing gear and missiles. I did however leave the wings down and opted not to add an open speedbrake.

And yes the penny is real. It is less green than the fake one.

New bird from Germany

Hi all! I am a new member from Kaiserslautern (known as K-Town), Germany, and a beginner in papermodelling. I'm mainly interested in ships from sailing to dreadnought eras. At the moment monitors, turret ships and gun boats are on my mind and I'm trying to learn more about that - for me - new kind of modelling. I am a big reader but not a big writer, so please don't expect too many posts.

Best wishes and a happy new year to all!

Dieter

Model suggestion thread

I'm gonna try something. Sometimes, I look through my meager collection of 3-views and books, and have no idea what to design next. I get lots of ideas just browsing through the forum, and have even seen a few "that's an oddball, maybe Aaron will design a model of it" comments in threads. So, I wanted to consolidate everything into one thread, and set a few basic ground rules.

1: I take any and all suggestions as long as a good large 3-view and picture is included, preferably in color. Google and I are not on friendly terms, and trying to find information on an aircraft is iffy at best for me.

I once designed a model for somebody, and when I asked for a pic of the version he wanted, found out I'd designed the wrong plane:eek:

2: The odder an aircraft is, the better.

3: US Coast Guard or NASA/NACA versions go high on the list.

4: Some planes just have that "Cooooooooool:cool::cool:" factor that makes me wanna design them.

5: Bribery helps

6: The rarer it is in the paper modelling world, the better. Harriers, F-117's, F-15's, Me-109's and the like are a little overdone.

So, if you have a suggestion, or see an oddball plane in your web carousing, drop a 3-view here, and I'll have a look at it.

Hello from Mönchengladbach/Germany

Hello,

I like to introduce myself to this wonderful forum.

I focus on modeling ships (esp. late 19th century), submarines and SciFi spacecrafts. Fotos for the gallery will soon follow. I’m looking forward to learn a lot from the members in this forum.

That’s it so far,

best wishes to everybody for 2015!

New Member - best wishes to all

Dear fellow members,

Just a short note of introduction - I recently discovered this forum. I am an occasional modeller, based in the UK, heading towards retirement but coming from a lifetime interest in defence and aerospace. My interests are mainly in military systems and vehicles, and I will contribute when I can - though I use card and balsa (shock horror!) to make my models mroe robust.

I would be interested in knowing more about suitable software tools to progress my designs (I use Librecad at the moment), particularly to colour the drawings.

If I can help, please let me know; I know a reasonable amount about land vehicles and systems.

I look forward to a fruitful interaction on this forum, and a slightly early Happy New Year to all!

With best wishes,

VincentJ

1:144 Apollo Launch Complex

Here I go again...so I'm building the 1:144 EduCraftDiversions LUT. I am also going to mount the Revell Saturn V on it. I will be making numerous upgrades to the ML and LUT throughout. I have started by cutting out the skins. Next I will build the internal supports out of balsa wood.

Quick question (RE. Plaque stand for cars)

Anyone know where I can download a plaque/stand for my models, or would someone be willing to make me one.. to my specs.. Should be simple enough for you designers.. lol

Simple flat base with angled sides half inche high, with a dark wood look, a small 2/3 mm lip around the top, so that I can put stuff on it, (Ie small scale pebbles or something) and a gold plate on the front where I can name the model.. (To fit 1/24 cars)

(if you can the gold plate separate)

cheers

Model Chevrolet Confederate (1st Ever Kit Build)

Hi guys,

Ok, so as you know I love to scratch build, however I tend to only do WW2 stuff, Ships, Tanks, planes, etc.

So, I decided I fancied giving a kit a go, so I looked around to find something, problem is I didn't know what to do, As it happens, one of my favourite things is cars, so I decided, since I don't do scratch built cars, I would try a kit for a car.

after searching for a while I found a group of Vintage cars, five to be precise, so thought why not.. (PS. Not the easiest of builds for a first time kit build lol)

Anyway, I have started with the Chevrolet Confederate, here are some pics, of the project so far..

Anyway, more to come.. looking good if I do say so myself

Is this "nitpicking"?

I just printed a Bf-109E-1 by Marek. It says it's NEW 2014.

On the wings (parts 50) the "Nicht betreten" markings are

mirror images. Are they all this way?

I was going to order others from eCardmodels when they

are back up.

Let me know, Thanks.

Bob

Reporting of Broken Links

Hi all,

We appreciate you sending those files which have broken links, and we do actively try to repair or replace them.

I would caution people in regards to the files that are hosted or linked to the forum, that those files on ecardmodels.com and Chris Gutzmer's server(they all reside on the same physical computer), the server is down, and is actively being repaired.

So please be patient, and wait for the news that Ecardmodels and Chris' server are back online.

It helps us with the loads of links we are fixing.

Battlestar Berzerk,

This build was for a paper group build on a styrene modeling forum. its also my first build here for this forum

I don't believe there is any intro need explaining what this ship is as I'm sure its been done here quite a bit.

Battlestar Galactica is one of my favorite shows and I hope I can do this justice.

Last night I started work on the Battlestar Berzerk.

Here are the parts. I printed them onto 110lb paper

I started construction with the engines

A station and a double house

It has been quite a while that I contributed something constructive to this site. So come Christmas and new year, I finished two designs. Both are scaled to about 1:160.

The double house is very loosely based on a building on the seafront of Scheveningen.

The station is a somewhat more acurate replication of a series of stations build around 1910 in "Noord Holland" along branch-lines, you may compare it to the attached historical picture and you will notice that the picture is a mirror-image of my design. Both occur, so feel free to mirror your model if you wish. Some of these stations still survive: as a detached house with enormous gardens.

I will upload both models in a few moments, so after approval they will be available for download.
