Peter A. Zorn Jr.
1939 - 2017
Dear friends of http://ift.tt/1cKeGdl
It is with great sorrow that I must inform you of this very sad news.
Our modeller friend and loved designer Peter Zorn died on the night of January 1st.
His wife sent me an email which for some reason arrived late to my inbox.
I just read it. Of it I can share the following words:
Quote:
Mon, Jan 2, 2017 at 11:09 PM Dear Ruben, It is with a heavy heart & great sadness that I have to tell you that Peter passed away last night. It was a massive heart attack, sudden and swift. One minute we were having a nice conversation, and thirty minutes later he was gone. ... Kind regards, Kathleen |
senior associate designer at TGAdesign in Florida, where he
lived with his family.
Not only was he a designer, but he also was a prolific text author,
and even an award-winning screenwriter.
We remember him for his famous series of paper model kit books
that were cleverly designed with nice details, and easy to build
that appeared in the early 1980s.
Although I never met him personally, we exchanged mails several times
and I could feel he was a great person, always with a curious spirit,
and he was no doubt a man who cared for the others and who loved
his family deeply.
He loved modelling, and he never stopped building until the end.
He had several ongoing projects in his table.
I had the honor of working with him and with Billy on the digital restoration
of his kit of the Ford Trimotor. That memory and a few others I cherish and
keep in my heart. ( http://ift.tt/1UHWpCs )
My thoughts go to his wife Kathleen. My sincere condolences to all
the people who loved him.
We have lost a great fellow member.
And I lost a friend.
Rest in peace, Peter. And thanks for everything!
