M79 Thumper by Nothing

Hi all,

One of the models I hope to finish for the Army Heritage Days paper model display is this M79 designed by Trent/nothing.

I bought the kit from ecardmodels.com for $6.50
the kit comes with a cover page, 12 pages worth of parts and 6 pages for the instructions, for a total of 19 pages.
And weighs in at 16.2MB

I printed the kit on my Epson Workforce WF-7610, using Wausau Bright White 65lb Cover Stock, in the 8.5 inch by 11 inch form factor, using the Premium Presentation Stock, Matte setting on high.

I have always been interested in the M79, from the footage coming from Vietnam, and the patrol man with a Thumper and a bandoleer filled with 40mm Grenades, to the Terminator in T2 using it as a suppression weapon, and blowing apart the T1000 in the foundry.
For those of you, who would like more info on Bambi's little friend, visit the wiki page on the M79 here >> http://ift.tt/1M3V2fb

The kit comes with formers for the tailstock, I will not be using them, as I will be stuffing it with toilet paper(clean), I have a couple of rolls that were left out after the janitorial staff cleaned and replenished the men's bathroom in my office.

I will be scoring all the parts in the next coming days, and the cutting and gluing will take place during my upcoming vacation next week.

I will keep updating this thread as progress warrants.

1st of March

Hey guys!
Tomorrow it is the first of March which is a very celebrated holiday in Bulgaria. We call it "baba Marta" which means "grandma March". It is a holiday symbolizing new life and the coming of spring.
We celebrate it here by wearing a "Martenitsa" which is made of red and white cloth (or red and white threads). People wear martenitsas for health and positive thoughts. :)
So I want to wish everyone a very sunny and warm spring. I give to all of you this martenitsa and I hope it brings you good health and much joy!

747-8i

Hi. One of my favorite planes is the 747-8, but I haven't found a template of it after 2 months of scouring the internet. Could somebody make a template of the 747-8, preferably based off of the PR 747 template or the Canon 747-400. Either the Lufthansa livery or the Korean Air livery would be nice. So, if anyone has time to do the modifications, thanks!

PAS Kinloss

Model in card at 1/96 of PAS Kinloss. A mooring and salvage vessel with some towing capability also. These type of vessels were very active during and after the second world war in refloating sunken ships and clearing harbours. They were easily spotted because of their two horns at the bow. One of the models I enjoyed to build but a dockyard job to repaint to be published here.

Today's Leap Year!

Didn't quite realise, until I went to Google, where they have some animated rabbits making the point that today is the 29th of February!

Md 450 ouragan - new bird

hello friends

these days i started a new model....the MD 450 OURAGAN

i wanted to take my little one MD 450 in 1:50 scale that i build in 2008 , but i noticed he has some problems of similarity to the real thing a it is a little bit not symmetrical at the longitudinal axis.....it was one of my first work of re-designing models with photoshop and i did not have an experience.:)

so i decided to create an entirely new model.

my good friend Yaron helped me with Autocad and made me a basic fuseladge according to the drawing and sketch that i made and send him.

the fuselage is very simple and has a cylindrical and symmetrical body for the entire length.

i asked Yaron to make me a lot of lines a long the whole fuselage, so it will be easy for me to install panels and other stuff.

i did the canopy by myself and put it on the model for Illustration.

so here is the first basic pictures of the white MD-450 prototype.

the next step is to fill the fuselage with panels, scrwes, rivets and scripts with symbols.

regards

YOAV

Der Kampfleiger Curtiss F9C 1/520 scale

So I built the p****** kits of the U.S.S. Akron & Macon as soon as they were re-issued, but they didn't include any Sparrowhawks. Fortunately, I had purchased Der Kampflieger's card model in 1/48, and printed it at 9.2% to give me the same scale as the airships. First the Akron

And the Macon

Good Evening

Hi everyone, I am a recent convert to paper models, having spent most of my time with plastic.

I'm from the UK and have been watching and learning for a while now. I've made 2 attempts at a ship, 1 being HMS Sheffield the other being HMS Hesperus, neither made it to completion, but both were massive learning journeys and have helped immensely.

I've just staryed my 3rd attempt at a ship, HMS Lance, and thought it was time to introduce myself and maybe start a work in progress thread to help me through.

Look forward to speaking with you soon.

Russ

Nano Neuschwanstein

Here's the second kit my daughter gave me for Christmas.

I'm not sure if it is quite as good as my first building - there were a few fit issues. However the biggest problem was making sure which way round I folded the parts. It's impossible to tell front from back - a small "B" on the back before snipping the "Sprue" worked - but only on the big parts - well - big for a nano kit!

I think the black box (comes with the kit) really makes the building stand out!

About three evenings and close-up reading glasses were enough to finish it.

Cheers
Mike

RAF MRTT, anyone?

After seeing one of these parked on the tarmac at KWI the other day (alongside an RAF Globemaster III, a USAF C-5 and an RCAF CC-150 Polaris...) I'm wondering if anyone knows of any models of this, or is interested in converting any of the existing A330 models into this:
