EAA's B-17 "Aluminum Overcast"

She's in Oshkosh, WI for her annual inspection. Most of the year, she's out on tour and giving rides. I've been helping restore the EAA's B-25 (See http://ift.tt/2zHDnqA) and the B-17 is in the same hangar. I walked through her today and took photos. Some of them are a little fuzzy; I was shooting handheld with my SLR at very slow shutter speeds -- nearly one second at times.

You will notice extra seats in the waist, radio compartment, and cockpit. The top turret remains though the guns and mechanism are gone to make room for passengers. The radioman's dorsal gun is gone. Railings have been added in the bomb bay and a short step ladder in the well under the pilots' seats. Other than that, so far as I can see, her fitting out is authentic WWII.

Russian Tractoe

Do any members know how I can obtain a copy of a Russian CT3-XT3 tractor.
I saw a pic of the model on a site but says it is no longer available.
The publisher is MBA Card Models. I have a copy of their dozer Type 65. It is a highly detailed model with good assembly drawings and 3D comp generated pics of the assembly process. I am sure the tractor would be the same.
Thanks
Owen

Kooklik u-boat question

So I purchased Kooklik's u-boat from ecardmodels.
And then I used a laser cutter to cut out the hull formers, I have now triple-checked, and made sure my formers are correct, but the skins are just a hair too small for the formers. i.e, they don't come all the way up to the deckline or they are just a fraction too short to go between the vertical formers.

I read several threads where people have said the skins don't exactly fit. so my question is simple, do I shrink the formers or do I enlarge the skins. either is easy enough. but I want to make the correct change.

Can someone who made the model tell me the exact length of the completed model bow to stern. If so I can measure the formers and see if my formers are too big or my skins are too small.

Thanks

Mondorfer Steam Yaght

I haven't seen any here lately, so I'm not sure if there's any Fun Fair fans left on the forum, but there's a lovely Steam yacht on offer at Startseite

Alexander Bondar - Junovicz Armoured Car

The last of Alexander's models - a 1:50 Junovicz Armoured Car.

The Junovicz was an attempt by the Austro-Hungarian Army to equip itself with armoured vehicles. The Junovicz was the product of a project headed by Hauptmann Junovicz to add an armoured body to an existing truck chassis. 3 of these clumsy, slow armoured cars were produced in 1916 on Fiat truck chassis and a further 2 in 1917. It's not known if they saw any action.

Alexander has said that his next model will be a Mexican armoured car produced during the Mexican Civil War which occurred in the same time frame as WW1.

The URL for the models on Landships is: Landships II

Charlie

Question!!!

Hi all,

Until now I have only build ship models (see my threads on this Forum), but I would like to try and build an airplane. My question is what card model planes in scale 1:33 have the best quality, because when I start I like to build a real good and detailed one, and not just a sloppy one, so which brand has the best quality models ?? T.i.A.

John.

Satellite tracking ship "Kosmonavt Yuri Gagarin" - 1:200 - Oriel

I've started on the next big project - the former USSR satellite tracking ship "Kosmonavt Yuri Gagarin". Active in the Soviet space program in the 70's and 80's. A rather unusual-looking vessel.

http://ift.tt/2u2vyKb

It is a big full-hull model (139 cm!) with some very intricate detail. The dish antennas look pretty difficult, but I'm not there yet. Safe to say this will not be finished before Christmas. And I will be using the laser-cut framework, detail & railing sets.

Class 209/1200 submarines and the TR-1700 type submarine

Good afternoon
It's been a while since I posted a comment, but if I went to look at the different forums ...
I wanted to check if there are paper models of the Class 209/1200 submarines and the TR-1700 type submarine ...
If they do not exist, someone would be encouraged along with me to design the paper model of them, nothing sophisticated, something simple, more than anything the TR 1700, for the recent disaster of ARA San Juan :( , I want to put something commemorative to have on my shelf .-

Papercraft BB-9E

Papercraft BB-9E. New droid from Star Wars The New Movie. I haven't seen the movie so I don't really know if this is suppose to be an empire equivalent of BB-8. BB-8 gone dark side. I made BB-8 papercraft so when I saw the first pictures online of this one I knew straightaway that I was gonna make this one too. Model is designed by blackfoldworkshop.

I made it similar like my BB-8 papercraft. I put couple of magnets inside it and inside the head so you can rotate it all you want and the head stays with it. Head rolls along the body in this one so it is like the one in movie and not just glued on and standing still. The head on this one hovers along and it can be moved. You can detach and attach the head. Not a difficult model to build but it looks really nice and it made a nice companion for my bb-8. Huge thanks and praisies for blackfoldworkshop for this model.

EURO SCALE MODELLING HOUTEN / Netherlands

A hello to all who were not with in Holland,

and also to the contributors.

On Thursday, the 23rd of November, I have already stored all models safe for transport in the car.

On Friday at 4 o'clock in the morning we went off. There were five of us with two cars (Heinz, Mario, Manfred, Roman and myself)
The weather was very good (dry and about 5 °) Until Frankfurt, it was progressing quite quickly, but then there were some traffic jams, but we are not struck by Steirer.

So we arrived at 17 o'clock after 12 hours net time in Houten. Despite the long journey (1200 km) we were the first in the hall!
We immediately set up our table.

On Saturday we really saw how extensive the fair was. Three big halls full of dealers and clubs.

In Hall 3 were the paper merchants and clubs. Right at the beginning I went through the boxes with the model bows, and 200 euros were gone.

Also interesting was the meeting of old acquaintances and new craft colleagues I knew only from the forums so far.

There were many cardboard models to admire, the whole variety was shown, but see for yourself ......

The pictures of the plastic fraction are then set by Manfred.

I wish you much joy with the Pictures

The hole Pictures you can find here .:

Kind regards
Kurt
