Ya know, Dave just has some nice kits. This is the Hun Hunter II, flown by 1Lt. Henry Brown (pretty effectively as it would seem). I really liked the textures on this kit, with different colored panels, which makes it look like they have been replaced some time in the life of the plane. The funny thing is, the wing fairings look like they are from some 'nother kit.
Anyhoo, this is one of Daves older kits which came without the cockpit and wheel well details, also it didn't have joining strips which are apparent in newer kits. He does however, have and update package with interior cockpit details and wheel wells (though the well for the tail wheel seems to be missing). He also has an upgraded spinner which I used, the one in the kit has petals (icky). Well, to make a long story short I made my own joining strips and used reduced sized wheels from John Dell's free upgrade to his B17 kits, (even made the itty bitty tail wheel that way), the only change there, other than size was to cut out the centers and insert the ones from Dave's kit. Can't wait to build a couple of John's B17s so I can use the full size wheel and tire, they are currently in the stack.. Now I need to learn how to make clear cockpits without sticking finger prints all over them, by the way, what kind of glue do you guys use to attach the paper to the clear film?
The last picture is the prop spinning, it got caught in the breeze when I took the picture ;)
