Dressed to Kill: Japanese Arms & Armor - Cincinnati Art Museum
Discover the samurai at Cincinnati Art Museum
----------------------------------------------------------
A dozen 18th to 19th c. suits of armor are on display through mid May 2017. You can get close enough to them to appreciate the small details and see how the lacing was done.
Two of the armors were brought to the US and sold to the museum during the 1890's in order to pay for the medical school expenses of a pair of Japanese women. One of them died in 1963, which meant her life went from the horse powered samurai era to the semi-conductor era.
Check with the museum about the dates, they might postpone the closing date of the exhibit until the following month.
