Hi.

Thank you for allowing me to join you.
Seventy years and peripheral neuropathy have robbed me of my fine motor skills and the feeling in my hands, so I'm scaling up my modelling activities.
One of my careers was in theatre design, sets and lighting, so modelling in a variety of substances, but principally paper and card, was part of my job. Now, I play, building what my grandchildren think is cool. One current long term project is Artur Dracula's Castle (Artur is the count's younger brother), in 1:12 scale. We're at the bottom still, with the crypt, dungeon and wine cellar.
Working in 1:12 scale with paper and card can be insubstantial, so I use foam as a structural base, this allows me to be creative without worrying about things collapsing. With an object that will be around seven feet tall and moveable, stability is a worry.
When the castle is finished it will have dry ice, a miniature fog machine and coloured LED lighting.
Something which I am looking at is laid up paper bodies over a wooden mould for radio controlled antique cars. There's a 1929 Bentley and a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost on the drawing board, with the Silver Ghost mould almost ready. Unfortunately a house move last week has rendered the workshop unusable for a while....
