AutoDesk Make Software

I have used this software from Autodesk and it's really cool:
Autodesk 123D Make
You can import an obj and it can break it down into slices, slotted slices, and folded paper. The folded paper is ... not so great, not much control and the interface is a little puzzling. The slice function is very cool. It can make laminate slices that can be assembled, or slotted pieces that can be fitted together.
Also they have software that you can use on your phone or desktop to capture real life object, with colormaps, and output to obj format with the material and maps applied:
Autodesk 123D Catch | Generate 3d model from photos
Here is a water bear sculpture I captured:
Tardigrade 3D Model Made with 123D 123D Catch
Click on the 3D icon.
These are both free, but you have to register for some features, I think. I was already registered as an AutoDesk user, so there's really no trickery involved. Spam and whatnot.
