Just for fun (and this seemed like the right place to deposit this) here's my oldest built up paper model. It's a re-designed, re-drawn and re-coloured Fiddlers Green Bf109; in fact there's little to connect the two, apart from them being about the same scale.
Anyway, this model's been surviving house moves, living in sheds, and sitting on shelves gathering dust for around eight years now. The colour of the camo I authenticate by viewing an original WWII specimen, it's a very odd shade of brown indeed, but the patination on the colouring is partly by design, and partly by dust :)
When I did this re-draw back in 2006/7, I was doing a lot of work for FG; this one was rejected simply because it wasn't asked for. There were other projects I was supposed to be doing for Chip, not messing about with stuff he didn't want me to do! A salient lesson in the 'business' side of creating paper models. Shame, as you FG 109 fans could've had this upgrade a loooong time ago ;)
The montage of images are the four designs I did, and some of the numerous graphics created for the model. Full stencilling included!
I'd be really interested to see any geriatric paper models you may have lying around....
