John Bowden has been working on a repaint of Julius Perdana's Emirates B777, adding both visual detail, new parts and structural elements. Here is my beta build of it.
One of the biggest changes is something most people will never see: a new internal wing box that not only sets the wings at the correct dihedral but also gives them the appropriate thickness and shape at the wing root. John did a heck of a job designing it, and I think the final version works great.
I was just looking for a quick-and-dirty build, so I didn't go whole-hog on the model. I did add a few details here and there, though. The level of detail John has added is nothing short of a modeler's dream, and he's added even more since I did this build. (As is often the case, I put the finishing touches on the fuselage's front end just as John sent over new parts with more detail....)
