Here we have Paragon's Mystere in Israeli Air Force Livery. This sand and blue camouflaged airplane was flown by a Captain Ami Goldstein who, flying this jet, shot down an Egyptian MiG-17F on June 5, 1967. Coincidentally, the date also marked my 16th birthday, so when I came across this livery at the Wings Palette site, I just had to recreate it in paper. I recolored the white model using Photoshop, and printed it at 58% to yield a 1/100 model.
Paragon hasn't been around here much lately, but his site is still up - although some of the links don't work anymore. It's a simple model (I built it in one day, and I'm a slow modeler), but it captures the look of the real thing pretty well. I think that the fuselage could stand to be a little more stout, but that would be my only criticism. I plugged up both ends with discs of blackened cardboard, and added a splitter to the front (looking at it now, I think I'll paint it to match the sand color). I'm planning to mount it on a Fiddler's Green stand decked out with the IAF coat of arms and give it to an aquaintance at the next meeting of the local modelling club.
If there's any interest I'll add it to the forum's download section. Pics ain't too bad if I do say so myself - better than my usual effort.
