Black Pearl - From the Pirates of the caribbean

I'm looking to build the Black Pearl again

A couple of years ago, downloaded the template from Disney paper craft side, designed by UHU02. A well know paper craft designer.

As Disney claimed the rights on this model, and UHU02 did not agree, it disappeared from the Disney site. The model is still visible on the UHU02 site, but he removed the template download links.

Stupid disagreement on copyrights for something that was available for free download anyway.

I started building this model on one of my first attempts on paper models.
After building the hull stopped the build, I found it to small and paperish for what I wanted.

He explains that he developed the model in corporation with Mel Lpapa. he even provides you a link to this page, That leads to nowhere, hmmm.

He even mentions this on the first page of his template, it says UHU02 & Mel Lpapa. See sample
So, I keep searching for plans and info from the black pearl.

Cardboard Warriors Hoard

Over at Cardboard Warriors, we do a monthly theme, and December was Hoard of the Procrastinators. A chance to put things together that have been languishing in your hard drive too long. So this month we have some goblins, a Bear Tank, some counters and some Sci Fi stuff.

First we have some Warrior Bug variants and then a TOS Star Trek Transporter Room.

1812 Schooner?

There was a nice Lindberg 1812 Sandpiper schooner, when I was a wee lad.

Has anyone ever made a similar era two master?

I know a previous thread offered a schooner [Schooner Isolde]:

but it no longer appears enabled and I haven't found anything similar to this favorite of privateers and merchants of the era.

Have I missed one?

Yamaha MT-10

Hey All

I have decided to build the Yamaha MT-10 for two reasons.

1: I am using 80 gram paper this time to build the model as against the 160 gram that I have normally used in the past and I have had issues in the building of the V-MAX and R1M in that part just seem to be a bit on the over sized scale and model does not fit together as I would want it to.

2: If this works I am going to re-build the R1M again as from failed first go with the same formula in point one.




I have printed all the pages out from a colour laser printer, I have done all the marking of the bend lines and I have found that none of the ink has lifted from the paper yet, when I bent the Train model from Canon I saw that there was some ink lifting from the paper when I did the marking of the bend lines of which later resulted in ink coming adrift from the paper.

But figures crossed lets see how this build goes.

U.S.S. Enterprise studio model visit

Okay, so thanks for all the birthday greetings earlier this month. I wasn't able t reply quickly became a little lass fun-napped me to DC for a get-a-way.

While there I dropped by the Smithsonian & took a gander at the recently restored Star Trek studio model. I thought about you folks and thought I'd take some detail pics that might help model builders and designers; close ups that might provide otherwise missed features that real accuracy freaks, like me ;), might appreciate.

Apologies for the photo detail but I wasn't aware of the trip in advance and had only a little cheap digital.

I'll post some general overall pics first and over the next few days add details and close ups as interest demands.
