Vienna Secession

Interesting news for lovers of (early) 20th Century architecture. I have at last come into contact with Hugo Reissner, designer of the two Adolf Loos models I have been offering for sale as reproductions. There was a third model: the Vienna Secession (arch. Josef Olbrich), which marked the beginning of the Jugendstil in Vienna. Mr Reissner has made his last and only copy available to me so (if I get enough reactions to this newsflash!) I can prepare a reproduction. Like the Haus Lange which I did last year, it will be printed, not a lasercopy. 1/33,3, 14 pages A4, ca. 111 parts, brochure and instructions in German and English. Price will be 21,50 EUR.
At the same time, I was given 20 original copies of the Haus Moller - price 8,65 EUR. A search is going on for remaining copies of the Chicago Tribune Column - if / when it becomes available I will inform you on the News page of my website.

This reprint will only be possible if I get enough reactions. The Haus Lange sold 27 copies worldwide (ours is a very small market...), which exactly covered the costs. My price is based on the same number to be sold - so if I get many more reservations I will be able to lower it! Just send me a pm.

Private messages not working?

Hi admins,
Am I doing something wrong, or did PMs stop working for me?

I composed a message and clicked the "send" button. That got me back to main PM page without any confirmation about the message having been sent. When I look at Sent items folder, it is empty.

Additional details:
1) The message contained six links and one e-mail address. Is there any limit about this? When I previewed the message before sending, the forum did not complain.
2) I tried to remove parts of the message and send it again, finally ending up with one "this is a test message" sentence. Still the same result.
3) I have 7 messages in the inbox and empty outbox, so there should be no overflow problems.

What could be wrong?

NAVY FIGHTERS 1954 : Cougar , Fury , Cutlass 1:48

Dear All - the US naxy was undergoing a big change toward 1954 .
The second generation jets with swept wings was about to enter service.
The jets here are : Cougar F9F of Geli. 1: 48
F-86 f instead of Fury fj-2 1:48
Cutlass F7U-3M 1:48
These 3 new planes at the time represent the 1954 era after the Korea war and
the transition from straight wing to swept wing.
Later I will add more details about each one.

Excellent place to get Metal Earth kits

Hi all,
I was in Minnetonka, Minnesota on business a little while back and one of my co-workers found out that I am starting to collect the Metal Earth kits. He said that at the Eden Prairie Center mall (in nearby Eden Prairie) there is a store called, "Air Traffic Kites ans Games that sold some of these.

Some of these...that was an understatement. When I went there, I had NEVER seen so many different ones available! I would guess they have at least 30 or so different ones. I purchased the LM that I had been wanting for a VERY long time. I wanted to buy the X-Wing and R2-D2, but had to save the rest of my money for food for the remainder of my trip.

I will get there again, somehow...

Here is information from the Eden Prairie Center web site:
http://ift.tt/1LIKsK8
Location: Lower Level, Kohl's Wing,1240
Phone: (952) 941-3335
Hours:
Mon-Sat: 10am-9pm
Sun: 11am-6pm
Website: airtrafficonline.com

I did not see the Metal Earth kits from their website however.

Best Regards,

The "first kid on the block to own" GPM USS California & Fantom HMS Good Hope

I received these yesterday.

I have started buying the laser cut frames (life's too short not to!), but this is the first time I have bought a detail set. With that crazy "cage mast" on the California it seemed like the right thing to do.

The graphics on both look fantastic. I'm thinking it's time to retire so I have time for more building!

I will probably detail my brother to put the California's frames together when he is in town for Christmas.

russ..

Blood moon

Don't forget to check out the blood moon tonight, it should be pretty interesting. I've been taking some practice shots trying to get ready.

Heavy Cruiser HMAS Canberra, 1/400

My previous ship model, HMCS Midland is in fact done, missing only rigging, and I've begun to build another 1/400 warship. This time it's legendary Aussie heavy cruiser HMAS Canberra - the ship of County class that was lost in tragic battle at Savo Island 8. - 9. 8. 1942 together with 3 US Navy cruisers.
Model is my own drawing, based on JSC model Norfolk. I've found on internet and other sources the most probably appearance of Canberra this day, including cammo of Chicago Blue color that were used by non-US ship, operating under US Navy command (HMAS Australia, HMS Victorious etc).
As always, my model is simple, without hundreds of details - only for fun. :-)

First is construction of hull:

Sides and deck:

First superstructures:

Conning tower:
