My A-4F SKYHAWK Squadron

In honor of the Sabbath and toward the end of the week, I made a photomontage of my A-4F SKYHAWK.

Hope you'll like it.:)

Shabat SHalom and happy weekend to all.

YOAV

And if you remember the puzzle image of all my models, I added the puzzle the MD-450 OURAGAN and the A-4F SKYHAWK

Photobucket now charges for embedding images

I woke up this morning to the ugly surprise that Photobucket has changed
the way they allow people to embed images to forums and other sites.

Read the news here:
http://ift.tt/2sutvfr

And here:
http://ift.tt/2stYYyE

This happened without previous warning to the users.

If you (like me) have images stored in Photobucket, and have linked to the forum
to show photos of your models, chances are that they do not show, and a dummy
image is shown instead.

:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Too bad. It affects millions of images stored in that site,
and thousands of threads in quite a lot of forums around the globe.

Happy Birthday ghshinn

Happy 10 Year Anniversary Papermodelers.com

Yes we are 10 years old, it just happened a couple of days ago.

In those 10 years, papermodelers.com has grown to be the largest English language forum dedicated to paper and card modeling on the internet.
We have members from virtually every round corner of the Globe, yes even one or two in Antarctica.

You might be wondering why there are no special banners, or other celebrations, one main reason, our real lives got in the way, family, health, school, and any number of other reasons could be given.

But now we can celebrate, if there are any suggestions as to how, let us know.
Would you want to see contests, giveaways, challenges, a fancy banner on the top left logo? Let us know.

I have an idea or two, but we can still use more.

Come join us and celebrate 10 years of papermodelers.com

Here's to the next 10!

Rick

photo etch, laser cut parts

I have scoured our site for machines methods etc for small scale detail parts. The scale is 1/400. Some companies make parts close to and in 1/400. You can substitute 1/350 scale parts in most cases, but the cost is prohibitive. after I designed a 1/400 scale destroyer escort I toyed with the idea of using toms modelworks brass etch k gun racks etc. they cost @ 25.00 us and I thought that was crazy. then multiplied by the other ships I want to build and you can see where the costs are as much as some of the machines out there. Looking at the silhouette machine, then the emblaser machine and then photo etching I was wondering / looking for advice from you all which would be better. this is in the sense of cost per machine, definitely accuracy of parts and ease of use. Keep in mind my ultimate evil plan is railings, radar dishes, maybe lattice masts, depth charge racks and those little doodads that are tough or impossible to pull off as paper.

Scalescenes - New "CLASP" Modular Buildings

Scalescenes have just released their new kit for the CLASP Modular Building system. CLASP was basically a prefabricated steel and concrete panel system used by British Rail and local councils across England in the 1960s and 1970s.

While it is a UK based kit, the prefabricated steel and concrete system means it can also be used for other countries where prefab concrete construction is used.

The kit is modular and extremely flexible as it can be used to create station buildings, depot crew rooms, signal boxes, offices, sub-stations, stores, warehouses, garages, schools, libraries etc.

R003c CLASP Modular Building - Scalescenes

Included are:
  • Selections of doors in different colours.
  • Selections of window and wall panel configurations
  • An easy to build system of internal walls and rigid roof section that results in a sturdy structure
  • Signs and posters (including BR, NSE, Regional Railways, Privatisation eras)
  • Drill points for adding posts to the awning
  • The ability to add more levels to make multi-storey buildings.

Box maker

I sort of fell into this site but I thought some of you might be interested in it. You enter your dimensions and it will create a tuck box template of that size as a PDF, might be handy. I have played with it a little and it seems to work great. I almost forgot the link: http://ift.tt/2sjoT0O

JSC have a great model of this classic between wars liner. The model contains 1936 parts printed on 18 sheets of A4 card,Laser parts are also avalible for boats, davits anchors etc.The overall length of model is 78.5cm.Colours are true and accurate. The hull is built using JSC construction of lengthwise triangular beam with frames attached. The model is rated 4 out of 5 for difficulty and should not be beyond skills of most on here.Cover picture is unusual in that its a painting by polish maritime artist rather than a photo.Anyone who is into classic liners should give this a go.:)

a bit of history about the ship.
launched october 1932
maiden voyage may 1935.she took the blue riband on this voyage.
length 981 feet
G.R.T 79,820
passengers 1972,crew 1345.

in september 1939 she was interned in new york harbour. Was renamed La Fayette and started conversion.
In february 1942 she caught fire at the dock.So much water was put into her to control fire that on 10th february she capsized at the dock.
She was eventually towed out and in the end was scrapped in 1948.

Have fun building her

Blackhawk Comic model

Hi guys,
Here for consideration is a re-paint I did
for our friend Miles.
This is the Blackhawk comic model.
I did it from the F.G. F-84 jet model.
There are several different jets that were
in this comic book.
This is just one of them.
Hope you all get a kick out of it.
The hardest part of this re-paint for me was
hand drawing the yellow and black lines for
the side of the fuselage parts. ( WHEW !!! )
Here is my build on it for you to see.
Best Regards,
Gary

Soviet Paper Models -- Can Anyone Identify?

I have four of these Soviet card models of fighter jets in the collection of paper models I inherited from my father. I've been selling the models on eBay, but I don't even know where to begin researching these. Any information, even just the brand name, would be super helpful.

Kampfflieger's Piaggio P.C. 7 racer

Here's a plane I've had for a while and always wanted to build. The Piaggio P.C. 7 from Master Roman Vasyliev. The original aircraft was built to compete in the 1929 Schneider Trophy race. It shows thinking way outside the box. Instead of floats, the aircraft had hydrofoils and a water propeller to get the fuselage out of the water for takeoff.

The model has a few lines that don't quite line up but builds up to be a beautiful model. I made a paper cylinder for the prop so the propeller can be rotated. The water propeller has a toothpick inside that allows it to rotate also.

I'm pretty sure I originally got the model from ecardmodels.com, but I don't see it in their current selection.

Murph's Models H-46 Sea Knight

Here's my build of Murph's Models H-46 Sea Knight. I adjusted the colors a bit to make the orange more of an international red color. The model includes a photo realistic rotor head which is kind of cool. The model was built stock. Like all of Murph's Models, the parts fit is good. I just had a little problem attaching the aft fuselage to the front fuselage. I ended up with the joint a little warped. I added some carbon fiber rods in the rotors to keep them from drooping.

Israeli Air Force first Spitfire, Model Art in 1/48 scale

This is a 1999 "Model Art" model by E. Zarkov and was intended to be 1/48 scale. As with all my prints this one seems to be a bit off in scale and shall be called 1/50-ish scale. The interesting thing is that this one is actually designed to both look great and glide. Directions state how to weight the nose properly to turn it into a glider...

The model design is a neat blend of inner former's, like you would see on a typical Marek model, and large one piece construction as on Fiddler Green models. Actually if you are comfortable with Kampfflieger then you would be happy with this design style as well. A great blend between strength and lightness.

This is a model of a Spitfire that was rebuilt with pieces/parts salvaged from around the Middle East by the new IAF and assembled as Israels first Spitfire. Some sixty more would follow thanks to Czechoslovakia.

I am unsure were I got this model from. The printing was done some years ago but the colors are still bright enough to build. There is a number of beautiful IAF models on the ModelArt website but I do not see this one... Anyhow, if the others build like this one, they would be worth checking out..:)

Tarnowitz hall towm

Hi all :)

As a beginner i didnt do great models, this is my first post here. In the beginning of this year, I decided to start with a not as easy achitectural model seduced by the tarnowitz (tarnwskie Góry) towm hall, a beautiful neoclasical building placed in Poland. 1:87 from SZK.
This is my progress... i replaced the windows with transparent paper and added some internal lights.
